Due to our hilly location, some cell carriers have weak service in the area.
A great base for touring the area, with quick access to lakes, Mickelson Trail and a 20 minute drive to Mt. Rushmore.
Cabins do not include a shower, bathroom or running water
inside. Showers and bathrooms are available for free use in main guest
shower house.

Nice Campground
Nice place. No frills, but really it was about all you need. It was fun to stay in the little cabin. Nice campground and a good place to eat right there too.
Wonderful Place
Wonderful place. Very clean cabins, bathrooms and showers! Places to park if you have a trailer. Camp host was very friendly and helpful! Will be back!!! Loved it
Great Stay
Clean comfortable and very convenient for mount rushmore and custer national park.
Perfectly Situated
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The property manager even stayed up late to ensure we safely got into our cabin. I would highly recommend this location if you are visiting either Mount Rushmore or the Crazy Horse Memorial, because it is perfectly situated between both locations. The cabin was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom facilities were well maintained and clean. It was actually better than what I expected. Our cabin looked exactly like the pictures. Liked the fire pit and picnic table that were situated in from of the cabin. The parking spot was right next to the cabin. I do not have anything bad to say about our experience. This is a beautiful area in August and the skies were crystal clear. Make sure you are aware that WiFi and cellular service is unreliable in this area. This is not a location you stay at looking for YouTube, social media, Netflix, or television.
Adorably Decorated
This was a fantastic place! Adorably decorated and clean. Both the cabin and the bathrooms were incredibly well maintained. It's a fantastic location, close to Custer Park, Mount Rushmore, and other great Black Hills hikes.
Family of Four
Our family of four was very comfortable in one of the cabins on this property (bunk and queen bed). The camp was very quiet and well maintained. Hill city was a perfect location for all the adventures the Black Hills and SW South Dakota has to offer. Plan your vaca ahead of time and be prepared with maps and guides—as this location and a lot of the roads are pretty much off the grid. Enjoy!!
Clean and Contemporary
Clean and contemporary cabin near Mount Rushmore and Black Hills hiking. Ask for a cabin near the washroom, which is especially handy on those cool mornings and evenings. The brewery/winery/restaurant is a stone’s throw away and Hill City is just down the road.
Comfortable Cabins
I found this place and figured it looked like a decent place to lay down. It was a lot better than that. The bed in the cabins were comfortable, it’s perfectly located to view Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, The Badlands, and a grocery store is right up the way if you forget anything. If you’re looking for a decently priced place to stay to explore the area, I strongly recommend staying at this campsite.
